Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Eriksen and Idrissa Gueye were the best passer, creator and tackler in the Premier League in 2016/17, but who else 'statistically' topped the charts this season? At Oulala.com we reveal the best players in 10 key areas, the very cream of the crop.

Burnley's Tom Heaton was the most active goalkeeper in 2016/17. The 31-year-old made a total of 141 saves in 35 appearances, six more than any other Premier League keeper this season.

Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta made the most passes this season. The Spaniard's 2,456 passes in his 38 appearances averaged out at a pass every 1.39 minutes.

Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke was, unsurprisingly, the most successful player in the air. The 325 aerial duels the 26-year-old won came at an average of nine per game.

Everton's Idrissa Gueye topped the tackles won table comfortably. The Senegalese international made a total of 136 successful tackles in 33 league appearances, an average of 4.1 per game.

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen was the Premier League's most creative player. The Dane registered 112 key passes in 36 appearances, an average of 3.1 per game.

Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha was the most fouled player in English football's top flight in 2016/17. The 24-year-old provoked a total of 120 fouls in 35 appearances, winning his side an average of 3.4 set pieces per game.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero was the Premier League's most trigger happy player this season. The Argentine recorded 139 shots in 31 appearances, an average of 4.5 per game.

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez registered the most through balls during the 2016/17 Premier League campaign. The 48 that the Chilean made came out at an average of 1.3 per game in his 38 appearances.

Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha completed the most successful take-ons this season. He topped players such as Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez to take the crown after making a total of 145 successful dribbles, an average of 4.1 per game.

Tottenham's Harry Kane was involved in the most Premier League goals during the 2016/17 campaign. His 29 goals and seven assists, totalling a direct involvement in 36 league goals was two more than any other player.
