Stats show Man United reject outperforming Ibrahimovic, Pogba & Mkhitaryan!

When Manchester United sold Memphis Depay to Olympique Lyonnais in the January transfer window, nobody could have imagined the impact he would have in Ligue 1 following such a disappointing 18 months in the Premier League.
Fast-forward seven weeks and the Memphis Depay Manchester United thought they were getting from PSV Eindhoven is finally showing the world just how good he is, just for a different club, in another league.
The 23-year-old continued his excellent form at Lyon on Sunday with a stunning goal from the halfway line in his side's 4-0 Ligue 1 victory over Toulouse. Depay turned his man in the centre circle before lofting the ball high from 46 metres, looping over a helpless Alban Lafont.
The Dutch international has now scored five league goals for Lyon since making his debut as a 79th minute substitute against Marseille on 22nd January just seven weeks ago. When put into context, Depay has scored just one goal fewer (5) than the entire Manchester United team have managed (6) in the Premier League during the same seven week period.
While Depay's goals have stolen the headlines, he boasts an array of other attacking stats that put his former team-mates to shame.

The Dutchman has registered more shots in Ligue 1 than any Man United player has managed in the Premier League since he left Old Trafford. He has also created more chances, completed far more dribbles and is only matched by Antonio Valencia for assists.
Is this another example of Jose Mourinho's failings in recognising young talent? Needless to say, Manchester United were smart to recognise their manager's poor track record and include a buy-back clause in the deal with Lyon.
