Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo come head-to-head twice in the next fortnight as Tottenham and Real Madrid prepare for back-to-back games in the Champions League group stages. 
 
As two of Europe's most prolific strikers, Oulala.com have compared Harry Kane's and Cristiano Ronaldo's goal scoring exploits in all competitions in 2017 to reveal which player has the edge. 
 
Ronaldo and Kane have each scored a total of 43 goals for their clubs and national teams in 2017, however one has taken fewer games to reach that figure.  
 


 
 
Cristiano Ronaldo leads Harry Kane in Europe and Internationally
 
Ronaldo (14 goals) has outscored Kane (5) in European club competitions (Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup) in 2017. The Portuguese international has also netted more goals for his national team (11) in the calendar year compared to the England striker (7). 
 
 
Harry Kane tops Cristiano Ronaldo domestically
 
Kane has outperformed Ronaldo in both their respective domestic leagues and cups in 2017. The 24-year-old has scored 27 goals in 25 Premier League appearances since the turn of the year compared to Ronaldo's 16 goals in 22 La Liga appearances. Kane's four goals in three English cup games for Tottenham also betters Ronaldo's record of two goals in three appearances in Spanish club cup competitions. 

 
Level on 43 goals in all competitions in 2017, Harry Kane comes out on top on a per game basis having made fewer appearances (38 to 46), recording a goals per game rate of 1.13 to Cristiano Ronaldo's 0.93.
