Stats show why Sanchez and Chamberlain must target this Man United player

Stat Attack | Posted on by
Manchester United's Ander Herrera is the most dribbled past player in the Premier League this season, having been evaded an average of 2.2 times per game. While Arsenal boast two of the league's best dribblers, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who rank 5th and 15th respectively for successful take-ons.

Ahead of Manchester United's trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal on Sunday, our stats team at Oulala.com have found an area that Arsene Wenger's side must exploit, if they are to end United's unbeaten run and in turn, reignite their push for the Premier League top four.

Ander Herrera is the most dribbled past player in the Premier League this season. The Spanish midfielder has been evaded, on average, 2.2 times per game.

Of the 380 players to have made 10 or more league appearances, Herrera has been beaten by opponents more times per game than any other player. An average of 2.2 in each of his 28 league appearances.

Additionally, when looking at the Arsenal squad this season, two names stand out as far as dribbling is concerned.

Alexis Sanchez has completed an average of 2.7 successful dribbles per game this season, the fifth best in the Premier League.

While Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has completed 2.2 per match, the 15th best in English football's top flight.

Our numbers suggest that if Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain can target the space occupied by Herrera, statistically speaking, the Arsenal duo will come out on top more often than not.

Arsene, it's over to you...
