Alvaro Morata vs Edin Dzeko: Stats show why Roma fear Chelsea star

Ahead of Chelsea's Champions League showdown with Roma at Stamford Bridge this evening, daily fantasy football game Oulala.com have compared the in-form Alvaro Morata and Edin Dzeko to reveal which striker has the edge before the pair go head-to-head tonight.

Having missed three weeks of action for Chelsea following a hamstring injury, reports suggest Antonio Conte is ready to hand Alvaro Morata a place in his starting XI against Roma.

Roma striker Edin Dzeko commented "It's better for us if he doesn't play and rests for the next match", underlining the respect the Italian side has for Morata and the threat he poses.

While Dzeko has enjoyed an excellent start to the season domestically, boasting superior underlying stats; recording more key passes, successful dribbles and shots per game in Serie A, Morata has been far more clinical in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has scored six league goals from 21 shots, a conversion rate of 29 per cent. In contrast, Dzeko has netted his seven goals in Italian football's top flight from 39 shots, a much lower conversion rate of 18 per cent.

The Chelsea forward has also been directly involved in a league goal for Chelsea, on average, every 62 minutes. Dzeko's involvement in eight of Roma's league goals has come at an average of every 76 minutes.

Judging by those stats, it's clear to see why Roma would rather face a Morata-less Chelsea...
